YWLX’s 1450mm Six-Hi Reversing Mill Goes Live in Bangladesh

Recently, the 1450mm six-high reversing mill designed and manufactured by YWLX for K Steel Company of Bangladesh was successfully put into operation. The reversing mill features a max. speed of 1000mpm, and is capable of producing products with high surface quality and excellent flatness such as carbon steel and tinplate strips.

As one of the emerging regions for the steel industry in South Asia, Bangladesh’s K Steel Company, a highly influential player in the local steel rolling sector, aims to better seize the market demand for cold-rolled strip products (especially tinplate strips). Following multiple rounds of communications and discussions with YWLX, K Steel finalized the basic design and configuration of this 1450mm reversible cold rolling production line, which adopts a six-high mill equipped with positive and negative roll bending and work roll drive.

The core configurations and features are as follows:

The main mill, uncoiler and recoiler all adopt DC drive and full-digital AC speed control system, enabling stepless speed regulation during rolling.
A hydraulic AGC system is employed, which integrates functions including HAGC, AFC, thickness gauge pre-monitoring, as well as synchronous adjustment control, ensuring the thickness accuracy of strip steel products.
The Siemens automation control system is adopted to realize automatic detection, display and control of process parameters, as well as fault detection, judgment, display and alarm for key equipment parts.
Positive and negative hydraulic bending of work rolls, positive hydraulic bending of IR and axial shifting are applied to ensure the production of strip steel with high transverse accuracy and superior flatness.
The mill is equipped with quick work roll change system; backup rolls are replaced via hydraulic cylinder pushing and pulling.
A CPC device is installed to achieve automatic centering.

The commissioning and operation of this project have significantly enhanced K Steel Company’s rolling capacity for high-end tinplate strips and effectively boosted its market competitiveness.
