Understand the Composition System of Water Quenching Device in Bar and Wire Production Line


The water quenching device in the bar and wire production line is an important cooling system, which is used to quickly reduce the metal temperature during heat treatment, so as to achieve the required hardness and structural properties.

Water tank: used to store quenching water, usually with a large volume to ensure sufficient water supply during water quenching. The water tank may also be equipped with a liquid level sensor to monitor the water level and give an alarm when the water level is too low to remind the staff to replenish water in time.

 

Water pump: Pumps the water from the water tank, pressurizes it and sends it to the spraying device. The power and flow rate of water pump need to be selected according to the production speed and water quenching requirements of bar and wire, so as to ensure that water flow with sufficient pressure and flow rate can be provided.

 

Spraying device: It is composed of multiple nozzles, and the arrangement and spraying angle of the nozzles are carefully designed, so that the water can be sprayed evenly on the surface of the bar and wire. Common spray devices include ring spray pipe and flat nozzle array, which can be selected according to the shape and size of bar and wire.

Roller: used to transport rods and wires through water quenching device. The length and speed of the roller table can be adjusted according to the production process requirements, so as to ensure that the bar and wire can maintain a stable running speed and position during water quenching.

 

Driving device: provide power for the roller table, so that the roller table can drive the bar and wire to move. The driving device usually adopts the combination of motor and reducer, and drives the roller table to rotate through chain or gear transmission.

 

Control System of Water Quenching Device in Bar and Wire Production Line

 

Temperature sensor: installed at the position before the bar and wire enter the water quenching device and after they leave the water quenching device, and used to monitor the temperature of the bar and wire in real time. The temperature sensor transmits the temperature signal to the controller, so that the controller can adjust the water quenching parameters according to the temperature change.

 

Flow sensor: installed on the water pipeline, used to measure the flow of water. The signal of the flow sensor will also be fed back to the controller, and the controller can adjust the operating frequency of the water pump or the opening of the valve according to the flow situation to ensure the stability of the water flow during water quenching.

 

Controller: such as PLC (programmable logic controller) is the control core of water quenching device. It receives the signals of temperature sensor and flow sensor, and controls the start and stop of water pump, the opening of valve and the speed of roller table according to the preset program and process parameters, so as to realize the automatic control of water quenching process.

 

The design and operation of water quenching device directly affect the final quality of bar and wire, including hardness, toughness and surface quality. By accurately controlling the cooling rate and cooling uniformity, the ideal performance of the product after heat treatment can be ensured.
