Paraguay's manufacturing sector is currently undergoing a transition from basic primary processing to higher-value-added production. Due to the region's strategic position in South America and its abundance of hydroelectric energy, there is a growing demand for energy-efficient cladding rolling mill technology to produce composite materials for the local construction and automotive sectors.
However, many local facilities still rely on legacy equipment that lacks precision. The absence of a sophisticated automatic gauge control system in older mills leads to significant material waste and inconsistency in sheet thickness, which hinders the competitiveness of Paraguayan exports in the Mercosur trade bloc.
Furthermore, the humid subtropical climate of Paraguay poses challenges for equipment maintenance. The need for high-durability skin pass mill installations has increased to ensure that the final surface quality of the rolled steel remains pristine despite environmental stressors.
